Point Bonita drama

In the past two days I've learned two things about how to display photographs, so (1) I've got a big thank you for Scott who suggested that placing two verticals smack-dab side-by-side can be distracting; and (2) a big thank you to my buddy in Ohio, Jan Bell, who kindly suggested in an email yesterday that I not display a shot with color next to one without.

The photo (above) is the lagoon near Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands, within spitting distance of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Now, here's a scene I can never pass up -- it's on the scenic route to the Point Bonita Lighthouse. It's one of the better vantage points for the vast expanse of ocean.   There's usually some interesting effects with the afternoon lighting.   Got time to kill? -- stay for sunset...

You're right, very moody, subdued and peaceful. I love the last image. Sunsets don't have to be brilliantly colored and glowing to be lovely. The subtle grays and soft warm colors are very beautiful.

I like the top photo, but then I am a sucker for B&W. But the bottom shot takes the prize. Well done!

These are lovely scenes. I find the bright spot on the water in the last shot very intriguing and it certainly adds to the overall beauty of the scene.

Hi KAREN, SINBAD'S DAD, AND SCOTT -- Well, your response to the third photo was quite unexpected -- I had my own personal reservations with that image and almost didn't show it, although I "kind of like it". Thanks again everybody for the input.
