San Francisco's Castro District -- "up your butt edition"

Well, I wasn't really expecting such a lop-sided vote in yesterday's poll. I'm not sure the photo deserved so many "wow" votes, but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by two "boring" and two "stinks" ratings -- I thought homophobia was a thing of the past; I guess not.

The Rainbow Flag was designed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker. You can read more about it's history and what it stands for here.

So there I was, doing my little walk-around with my camera in the Castro District -- I spotted these advertising cards at my feet. A few minutes later I noticed them being swept up by a clean-up person who is hired by the community to keep the area tidy.

This specialty store has a complete assortment of EVERYTHING a person can shove up their butt. Not exactly MY cup of tea, but memories of my last colonoscopy DID sort of flash through my noggin.

Naw, I don't party. Oh, in a prior life I abused alcohol and drugs but these days I mostly get my jollies behind the lens of my camera. I DO, however, have a cat and we love each other very much. We all need love but we all seem to find it in a different manner. I think acceptance is the key.

Dear Donald: Interesting tour. By the way, "party" is code for crystal methedrine use, at least in the gay community.

Nope, homophobia is still around. And all sorts of other kinds of [insert a minority here] phobia. Lots of work still to do to get people to broaden their view point a bit, I guess.

The flag shot is so bright, so vibrant, that it deserves a "wow" vote, in my opinion. I should vote retroactively for that shot.
