Deadman's Point at Land's End

You'll find a more impressive display of Cypress down in the Carmel and Pebble Beach area, but the same twisted and windswept thing is going on with the trees in the San Francisco's Land's End area.

Look at these silhouettes long enough and they might turn into something you recognize. Look at them a while longer and they might begin to move.

So why do they call it "Deadman's Point"?
Oh, I suppose because way too many photo-snappers have accidentally taken the plunge to the cold waters below...

Someone recently stole the warning sign proclaiming the great danger and peril of hiking on the cliffs. Naturally, the sign was highly decorated with graffiti -- with "Deadman's Point" emphatically altered to "Deadman's Joint".

Hey, I know of photographers who would never stoop so low as to snap the Golden Gate Bridge. But I think there are endless ways to present it, either as a subtle background or up-close and personal.

The cypress are just amazing--and I love the "backdrop" use of the bridge in the last photo. Cool!

Hope you and kitty are having a truly fabulous summer. Poor health has curtailed bloggery 'til recently, but in tribute to your condiment documentation, I have a photo up for you today. Check it out if you get a chance, and all best to you. :-)

Love the subtle backround and the wild trees of Land's end. They really do seem to come alive sometimes.
