Marin County secrets

Marin County was pretty much a secret place until they had to go build that darned Golden Gate Bridge that opened in 1937. No longer did people have to line up at the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco to catch the ferry-boat to cross the choppy waters. All it took was a twenty-five cent toll each way and a little bit of twenty-five cent gasoline.
Curiously, it took two-and-a-half decades before they finally figured out that they could fire about half of the toll-takers by doubling the toll and just collecting it in one direction.

Yet there still are some fairly secret places. Do you know where Roy's Redwoods is? Do you know the best spots along the Lagunitas Creek? Do you know about a funky and very old shrimping village called China Camp? Ever do some hiking on a mountain filled with water that looks like a sleeping lady?

Or sort through ferns while trying your very best to avoid the ever-present and pesky poison oak?

Or stand all alone on a hillside with just one lone volunteer-oat and wonder why?

No, but if I ever get back there, I'll do the quick honor to the Golden Gate (which I've cross once but never seen due to fog) and go find these wonderful places. (I'm good at spotting poison oak.)
Oh, I can hardly wait until tomorrow. That picture SO intrigues me!
I will never see California.... And looking at you images, I wish I could....
I like how your lighting through the fronds of the fern, the bokeh feel. The tuba player is a great portrait.
