I'm not too much into frilly stuff, but I think these are called pettycoats -- I found these hanging in a costume shop across the street from CalaMarket on Hyde near California Street.

I can't resist a shot into an empty restaurant -- usually it has to be empty or I end up getting yelled at...

This is a new sign and business on Polk Street... Looks like they are covering both ends of the spectrum...

Looks like the "Daisy Duke" look is back in style...
And I've got dibs on that leg -- I've always wanted to make a lamp out of one of those...

What a diverse set of photos! The top two alone are so vastly different. Frilly and no frills. As for the lamp... maybe it would make a nice perch for Kitty!
Yeah, pretty cool sets!
One of the signs advertises the new Jewish Museum (the diamond shape). You should go there, even if you don't go in. There is a lot of stuff to photograph down there. It's in the area between Market St. and the Moscone Center, the SFMOMA and the Metreon, just a block or so, South of Market.
About the leg, I think it's been done before:

Great set! TF
You made me smile at the last picture. I'll bet you would like a leg lamp.
Great shot of the petticoats and the restaurant still life is my favorite. A great series Don.
