The mosaic (above) is the base of a rather colorful obelisk hidden away in a rather obscure part of Maritime Plaza.

These two designs are from the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.   More on my visit to that fabulous place later...

Never been to that museum. I'll bet it was fascinating.
Love the bold colors of the tiles on the obelisk.

Yes, Photowannasue, I had a real blast and must go back... There was a fellow giving a guided tour that I eavesdropped in on and he had a lot of interesting things to say about the early days of computing...

I was amazed when I learned admission was free, but the place has a lot of rich backers and corporate donors...

There's also a great photo gallery in Palo Alto called ModernBooks, and the name of the photo-collective is: Foto Nova... If you're ever in Palo Alto -- a very civilized city by the way -- be sure to stop by ModernBooks on the main drag...

From today's header you can also probably tell I visited the National Cemetery at San Carlos... Wow, sure a lot of graves... They seem to go on for ever...

And eventually I'll have to tell my story about getting kicked off the campus of Google -- oh, I knew that was going to happen, but I just had to walk through the place and shoot a few pictures... They were nice about everything and didn't taze me or spray me with pepper-spray or anything...

Oh, you went to the Geek museum in the South Bay? Pretty cool! I've been meaning to go for ages!

Awwwwwwwww... don't feel bad about getting kicked out of Google. I once got kicked out of the Microsoft campus up in Seattle and they weren't even nice about it. All I wanted was a picture of myself with the MS sign.. you know, typical tourist stuff. (shrug). You'd think they would used to it by now, uh? Maybe they are but the security guy that showed up didn't have much of a sense of humor...

Looks like you had a great time Mid-Peninsula... Did you like the show currently up at Modernbook?

The cemetery photo is especially cool...

HI BRAD
Yeah, the Foto Nova show at ModernBook was fantastic, and once again I am humbled by photographers out there so much better than myself... Oh well, I'll keep plugging away... Thanks for the tip on ModernBook... I have to find out more about it and keep up on the exhibition schedule...

AND HI TOMATE FARCIE
The "Geek Museum" was really cool and I was amazed that they don't charge admission (although they have a lot of wealthy backers)...

They have it all -- how many Cray's do you need... Some of the big machines cost upwards of eight million bucks in 1960's money... Amazing engineering... Oh, so slow machines compared to our PC's...

I love the color in the first one. The next two are definitely interesting. Not sure I would have thought to take pictures of that, but they look terrific!
