It was inevitable that seagulls would adapt to our greedy monetary system -- this one charged me a buck to take his photo...

Funny Don...its money well spent. What a wonderful "postcard". Love the reflection.

You better pay it, too, or they might decide to use you for target practice if you know what I mean ;)

Sigh, I remember the good old days when a few Cheezies would do...
Nice shot though!

THANKS EVERYBODY FOR THEIR COMMENTS -- ( you guys crack me up )

..And to answer Plug1's question about RAW -- yes I shoot both RAW and fine JPEG simultaneously...

RAW files are about 12MP in my Canon5D, and my JPEGs are about 6MP, so they take up a lot of space if I don't keep the "non-keepers" weeded out...

You really only need RAW if you want to make prints... JPEGs are all you need if the image is intended for the web only.

If you shoot RAW you'll need an image processing program that will handle it -- PhotoshopCS3 has a progam called CameraRaw bundled with it... You can do post-processing in CameraRaw, but I prefer to do MY post-processing in Photoshop itself, so I use CameraRaw for just a few basic adjustments before I convert the RAW image into a TIFF that I can then work on further in Photoshop...

(Don't know if any of that makes any sense, but there you go)

Best regards to all, Don and Kitty

Don, thanks. I am moving to RAW (experimentally speaking) in the next week or so -- just to test the waters.

I've been wondering when gulls were going to organize and start charging for their services.

The shot would make a great postcard.

Yes, it does make sense. The G9 does RAW too, but I've never used it.
