don't shoot the photographer...

Oh lord, the trouble I had with this banner yesterday. It started off as a fairly straight photograph with a blue sky. Jan Bell, a good friend who's opinions I value, suggested I do it in black-and-white, but then I ignored what Jan suggested and went to the high-contrast "soot and chalk" example you see here. For most of the day an example treated with Photoshop's "PlasticWrap" filter graced the banner position on AphotoAday. Sometimes I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Don't shoot the photographer...

So we have birds on wires and kids on a see-saw at the beach.

Really, it's pretty much the same thing.

You might be interested to know that the Golden Gate National Recreation Area runs a program bringing students to Rodeo Beach and the Point Bonita areas. They spend a day outdoors burning off energy and learning about the intertidal ecology of the beach and lagoon. For kids, they always seem very well behaved. Special instructors take groups on long treks up and over the cliffs, learning about nature as they go.

Sooooooo, I mentioned my good buddy, Jan Bell, above. He has had me on the lookout for when Calla Lilies are at their peak. RIGHT NOW, Jan!

And the sun goes down on the Calla Lilies of Rodeo Beach. Yawn...

Hi JAN -- hope I didn't sling your name through the mud. I should have taken YOUR suggestion in the first place. (PlasticWrap filter=yucky) Don

Sorry I haven't been here for a while Don.
I think I have missed a whole lot.
Still enjoy your take on life and the way you see it through the lens.
The last photo of the callas is gorgeous.
Have a great weekend.
