Greenbrae Boardwalk

Most everyone knows about the counter-culture house-boating and anchor-out communities of Sausalito, but not far away, and within spitting distance of San Quentin Prison, is the low-stilted commuinity of the Greenbrae Boardwalk.

Getting there takes the extra step -- that of walking down a long boardwalk, past decorated cottages, no two that are alike.

A utilities box makes a great canvas, mirroring the surroundings.
That's the old train trestle that still stands nearby.

The passing of time is evident. Yet this place is an escape, very close to civilization but a million miles away.

Somebody had better call the Coast Guard -- I think we have a shipwreck here...

I was unaware of the boardwalk. Will have to check it out as those are interesting images. I am looking forward to tomorrow's post about the story behind today's banner shot. Rules and regulations I do not do well with.

Really nice shots of a boardwalk I never knew was there.
I love how you capture the little bits of life with your pictures Don.

LOVE these ones Donald. There is something so beautiful about weathered objects with their patinas and layers...
