Sycamores along Redwood Creek

Last Saturday, heavy fog or not, I had the best intentions of exploring one of the more remote, wild, and dangerous places here in Marin County -- the coastline between Muir Beach on the south and Stinson Beach on the north.

However, once in the area it was easy to see that the coastline was having a "bad hair day" -- there were no waves and the fog wasn't adding anything to the overall dull and depressing mood -- so I remembered the grove of Sycamores along Redwood Creek, about half-way between Muir Beach and Muir Woods.

Nature has a way of putting things together in the most delightful way. As a photographer it is my job to sort out these delights.

I think a paragraph in my new Lagunitas Creek book might sum it up:
So what is important? Well, I gravitate towards nature, soaking up color and light while trying my best to capture the moment. Becoming emotionally attached to a particular photograph is easy, but magic happens when beauty or drama is conveyed to others.
Amen.

Perfect thought from your book.
Magic really does happen when others understand what I was trying to do.
Love the patterns in these pictures.
