No bodies are buried here, but "the crosses" in Lafayette California carry the full impact of the horrible loss of life so many families of our country have been asked to surrender.

The volunteers who maintain the crosses ran out of space at about 4500 crosses, but they've been updating the number--a whopping 6229 as of last Saturday.

It' a mind-bending number and a shame and probably a disgrace. The United States of America seems to place the value of property and pride above the value of human life.
