I'm sure my Kitty wonders where I sometimes go in the pre-dawn darkness.

Same vantage point as the first photo, but a wider view of the scene.

Sunrises intrigue me -- yet sunsets just don't seem to be my "thing".   A fellow would think that a sunrise would be the exact opposite of a sunrise, but I propose there are other differences -- for one; the sunrise process seems to take a lot longer than sunset.   I suppose this is because at the beginning of a sunrise the sky is dark, so any bit of approaching light is easy to discern -- probably not the case with a sunset when ambient light in the sky might cancel out some of the most subtle colors of light.

Those artfully shaped peaks is Mount Diablo, located in what we call the East Bay.

This time of year our days are getting shorter -- the sun is coming up later.   If I hurry up with this blog foolishness I just may be able to catch today's sunrise.   Hasta la Vista...

Oh my, breathtaking Don. You have captured what I see very rarely. Thanks for showing me what I'm missing by snoring in bed.
