On Tuesday I heard a report of big waves at the coast, so off I did go.

The crashing waves seem to have a calming or grounding effect on me -- I'm pretty sure others have experienced the same feeling.

I've learned over the years not to turn my back on the incoming waves -- I've gotten my feet wet more than once.

Rodeo Beach is located in the Point Bonita area, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, within spitting distance of the Golden Gate Bridge. See you there...

Thanks for stopping by my blog and letting me find yours. I love your part of the world, but haven't been there for a few years. You've got some great images. I followed so I'd be reminded to come back regularly.

OBTW on my image from Canyonlands NP I looked at that myself and thought it looked slightly skewed, but decided the towers were pretty straight up and down, and often those mesas are not 100 % level, so I don't know, it may be that I wasn't perfectly level because it was hand held.

Thanks BERIT -- I like your work too. Everybody should check out Berit's Bare Bilder site -- the link is on my sidebar.

And thanks SCOTT -- love your site too and am looking forward to more Southwest photos. Glad I didn't insult you by bringing up the skewed horizon possibility, as I am the worst when it comes to getting my images level. I hardly ever use my tripod or spend a whole lot of time on one shot.

Nice shots. Love the 3D feel to them and the playfulness of the teeter totter. Your header pic. is stunning.

Crashing waves have that effect on me too. A few years ago I lived right on Lake Ontario at a place where the waves hit the shore almost constantly. When the wind brought them in loud, it was heavenly. I never had trouble sleeping there. Love the beach shots!
