moody clouds -- it's Sky Watch Friday !

Beneath this moody morning cloud is San Pablo Bay, which is the upper thumb of San Francisco Bay.   This is where you will find the tiny historic Chinese shrimping village of China Camp.   Today China Camp only has one resident, Frank Quan, who still operates a small shirmp fishing operation.   Shrimp have been on the decline in San Pablo Bay, mainly due to reduced freshwater releases from the Sacramento Delta.   Mr. Quan isn't too happy about that...

The sky is indeed moody. The water is a long way across and shimmers. I think this is the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.

I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!

Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.

And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions

Definately a moody sky .. just stunning really .. I love standing on a jetty when it is dark and gloomy and let all my worries flow out to sea. Gorgeous Firework shot as well, thanks for dropping by!

I hope your day is less moody though it is a fine picture. Your day's header says it all for the day that's in it.

I suspect the sky reflects the mood of Mr. Quan. Interesting layered photo. Well done.

I like the header. Happy 4th to you.

Definitely a moody sky.

Are we allowed to choose our sky?
I'm not in that particular mood, but I love the silver grey one that has something special in its colors, it gives thickness.
I let the fireworks for others.
For me it will be the grey one.
Great grey Sky Watch!

Great catch for SWF! This reminds me the quote... "God and Nature first made us what we are, and then out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be. Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit and Eternity our measurement".... Happy weekend! Mine's up too hope you can drop by..

I would agree moodysky.
Grey skies here too.
I was at Whole Foods the other day and they will not sell orange roughy because it has been overfished!

I just LOVE the natural symmetry of your photograph! The differences in shades and texture are an added bonus! Fantastic!

Hello Don! Just received your comment! Your header is fantastic!!! My pics of fireworks were taken on my balcony in very bad conditions. I was frozing (only 12°C last night) and the light was awful... So the pics are fuzzy! :( BUT they give a little hint of what I've missed by not going to see the show on the River... Badbadbad MP!!!!
