Pope Valley - middle of nowhere in N. California

I was passing through Pope Valley as I always do on my way to Litto's Hubcap Ranch just up the road, but more about the hubcap ranch tomorrow.

According to Wikipedia; Pope Valley is an unincorporated community located in the small valley of the same name in northern Napa County, California. It is east of Calistoga, north of Angwin, and borders Lake Berryessa.

Pope Valley was named after William (Julian) Pope who was granted property in Rancho Locoallomi in 1841 by acting Governor Manuel Jimeno.

Actually, I took the long-way-around to Pope Valley (and the Hubcap Ranch) by way of Jimtown. Don't blink when you're passing through Jimtown or you might miss half the town.

I imagine the Pope Valley Store, now closed, sold a lot of Camel cigarettes.

Personally, I'm "sold" on the pretty blue species of Lord-knows-what [[[it's Chicory - thanks Gloria]]], growing so profusely and abundantly, just beyond the fence-line.

I am a sucker for photographer reflection photos. Great header shot Don. You got a wow out of me on it. I used to live north of Jimtown in Cloverdale. Happy to be able to say "used to".

Hi SINBAD'S DAD -- Yeah, Cloverdale IS way up there... But you know the Santa Rosa area -- I lived for a year or two in Hessel...

Donald, I really love this set, especially that Camel sign! It's wonderful learning about all of these little towns through you.

And again, I can't tell you enough how much I'm enjoying your book. I hope you will be making many more books of all of your favorite places!

I'm with Julie, you need to make books of the rest of your work.
