Okie dokie.   I suppose this would be as good as any to explain why I was spooking around over in the Mission District last Sunday morning at 7AM in the rain.   (((Yes, it was sprinkling a bit, but fortunately the rain stopped about half way through my shooting)))

Last week I got an email from the "200 Yard Project" and the deal here is to make photographs within a 200 yard radius of a particular spot -- this time it would be within 200 yards of "Dirty Thieves", a dive bar on 24th Street.   After the selection process, this is where the exhibition would be held.   This was to be their second go at this and my first.   I learned that at the last exhibit 12 photographers were represented by 40 photographs, and 30 percent of the photos displayed were sold. (((If you were wondering, selling a photograph in this economy is a bit of a challenge)))

So obviously, off I went...   As you might be able to see I scoured the 200 yard radius pretty carefully.   I came home with about 125 possible shots which is a pretty good morning's work for a Donald Kinney.

But in the past couple of days I've been having second thoughts about this project.   Even though Donald Kinney desperately wants to have his "work" in a show or exhibit I realized that showing my stuff in a dive bar with the unfortunate name of "Dirty Thieves" just might not be the right venue.

Not that I have anything against dive bars -- I used to drink like a fish.   Nope, I'll skip this opportunity and hope for something better in the future.   Wish me luck...

Great shots though!!
Maybe the Dive Bar isn't the greatest thing to have on your resume'.
A little extra cash wouldn't be hard to take.
I do think you made the right decision.
