I've cut my drinking back to about zero, but I can't think of a finer place in San Francisco to get smashed than Vesuvio on Columbus Avenue.

If I still drank as much as I used to I'm sure I would have eventually been reading these inspired inscriptions on my knees, side or belly.

Vesuvio is located right across the alley from City Lights Bookstore, and the alley between the two is named in Kerouac's honor.   Jack Kerouac Way is about 110 feet long and is a splendid entrance to Chinatown on it's western end.
