That finger of land sticking out into the Pacific Ocean is Point Reyes, 15 or 20 miles away as the crow flies from Mount Tamalpais, where I shot this.   CLICK for a similar, and perhaps more dramatic photo taken in February of 2008.

This is a view in the same general direction but on a different day as the fog was rolling in.   If not obscured by fog, we would be able to see the tiny burg of Bolinas down there.

I thought of you Donald as I drove through Marin on my way to the zoo in S.F. "My goodness, he was up and out here somewhere 3 hours ago taking pictures while I was just getting up out of bed." Keep posting those sunrise pictures. Maybe they will get me up and out before dawn someday.
