fog, fog, fog...

Having grown up in the foggy little coastal town of Pacific Grove I am no stranger to fog, so when I moved to Marin County 42 years ago I felt right at home in the cool semi-liquid atmosphere.

These dried-up volunteer oats haven't got much use for the condensed droplets of water, but many plants in this climate zone rely on the fog. Cool moist foggy mornings followed by clearing and the afternoon sun -- what a life...

We don't get much fog here but I do remember it when I grew up in Southern California. Love the mood these photos create!
Diamonds hanging from the weed stems and semi-liquid air makes the most wonderful pictures.
