the only thing that hasn't changed is the sunrise

Wilson Hill provides a splendid view east towards Petaluma, the all-American city that in earlier times was known as "America's Egg Basket". Life used to be simple here--just buy a few acres west of town, build some chicken coops, and get a few hundred chickens doing what they do best--laying eggs. Sadly, today most chicken coops sit empty in favor of a few massive poultry production centers farther out of town operated by large agricultural corporations.

That top photo has to be one of your best, if your THE best, sunrise you've ever taken. It combines just the right amount of color with a splash of fog in a well composed pastoral scene.

The second shot isn't too shabby either. NICE WORK

Thanks JAN BELL for the input. Appreciated. I was out this morning trying to find the sunrise but couldn't find diddly-squat.
Hey everybody -- for some really great images by this accomplished photographer (and my good buddy) check out Jan's website at:

I really haven't been back to Petaluma since my folks passed away. Me thinks it's time to venture in that direction again.
