The southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge is a busy place with construction of new roadway approaches in full swing. Habitat restoration and erosion control has been going on in the general area for quite some time -- inexplicably, a large number of healthy Cypress trees have been removed.

As much as the Golden Gate Bridge is associated with San Francisco, it's true reason for existence is to provide access to my beloved Marin County and all points north.

Okay -- this is inside a fenced area where I definitely wasn't supposed to be -- Battery Cavallo -- standing by since 1872 to defend San Francisco Bay from invaders that never came -- notwithstanding Beatniks in the 1950's and Hippies in the 1960's.

Spectacular shots Don.
Love the posterly first shot and the Battery Cavallo is stunning. So unique and "brave".
Wonderful images, exquisitely captured.
Crafty shopping on fabulous pics = WOW
I prefer the photos without the groovy effect, but it's still always a pleasure to see our beloved GG Bridge in your lens, Don.
