San Francisco's Mission District (part 1 of 2)

Despite a few rain sprinkles early Sunday morning, I went ahead with a little walk-around in San Francisco's Mission District.   I'm not exactly sure what I did with the "o" and the "r" but I thought the style of lettering on this sign was pretty neat.

A bullet hole?   Yes, that's a bullet hole alright.   I understand that the banditos sometime play for keeps on 24th Street.   In September of 2008 the president of the San Francisco Hell's Angels chapter, Mark "Papa" Guardado was shot and killed on this street.

I'm assuming this "vote" graffiti must be left over from the last Presidential election when the Latino vote played a major role at tipping the scales.

Do I party?   Oh hell, I don't know -- do you?   My favorite party game is Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Donkey -- what's yours?

Love the signs Don. You have such a good eye to single these things out.
Going with my son tomorrow to scope out some fall color around Hope Valley in the Sierras. Really looking forward to it.

A nice selection of photos. I like. Kind of a departure from your usual, no?

HI PHOTOWANNABE SUE, thanks for the compliments as usual and I "hope" you get some great shots at Hope Valley... I don't think I've ever been there...

AND HI SINBAD'S DAD -- Well thanks for asking... Actually, I shoot this type of urban stuff frequently and have some friends who shoot it all the time... I have another site called the DailyDuo (((there is a link at the bottom of each of my posts)))... The DailyDuo is where I can sort of cut loose, and it also gives me the opportunity to use photos that might not otherwise fit into AphotoAday... It's not a fancy site with comments, but I really enjoy doing it. I usually shoot in the City at least once a week, usually early on Sunday mornings when parking is free and I can usually actually find a spot.
