I showed a similar shot on the 17th, but didn't want this one to get lost in the shuffle.   I appreciated getting your feedback with the votes.

And I rescued this one from obscurity -- I showed another a few days ago, but since there is so little actually in focus in this image it would have been easy to skip over.

The vegetation at China Camp can be dramatic against the morning sky.

Not that I haven't ever splashed around in the cold cold Pacific Ocean. Heck, everybody should have the opportunity, so go for it, knock yourself out.

We lived within a mile of the ocean for 41 years and I never put my toes in the Pacific (on purpose!) Too darn cold and the beach was sort of icky too.
Love the thistles against the dawn sky. Beautiful.

The cloud shot would look good in black & white too don't you think? The Pacific Ocean was a lot warmer in southern California when I lived there as a kid. Then we moved up north to Sonoma county and found the ocean water too cold. Or maybe that was because I wasn't a kid anymore.

HI PHOTOWANNABE SUE -- Well, I haven't done it since I was a kid, but I swam in Monterey Bay many times... A couple years ago I was shooting down underneath Cannery Row and got splashed by a wave I couldn't get out of the way of... Cold yes, and I had wet socks and shoes for the rest of the day...

AND HI SINBAD'S DAD -- Hey yeah, I might try that as a B&W. And yes, I've heard the water in Southern California is substantially warmer.
