I often call Mount Tamalpais the "centerpiece of Marin County", but for many residents including the Indians who lived here for centuries, the mountain has certain spiritual qualities.   This is the home of Tamalpa, an Indian Goddess, and her spirit.

Tamalpa's trees can get quite artistic...

And they can get rather beautiful too...   As I mentioned yesterday, Redwood trees depend on the coastal fog for a significant percentage of their water intake.

We are having our share of fog here in the valley. Its not pretty and picturesque like the redwoods.
Love the pictures of Silence, especially the last one.

Great fog photos! I was in the Headlands yesterday and the fog pouring over the hills was very scenic.

This is one of my favorite of your posts ever. The middle photo conveys a feeling that comes over me on certain trails that I can never capture in photos. A sense of being in a world where you never know what could happen or is around the next bend.
