Happy Sky Watch Friday everybody !

In the San Francisco Bay Area we get more than our share of fog, but usually nobody complains -- it serves as our natural conditioning during the hot summer months...   It can be quite beautiful too...   The fog you see here was spilling over a shoulder of our beloved Mt. Tamalpais last Tuesday.   As you can see, it was quite an impressive sight...

That is pretty. It is such a strange feeling when one is surrounded by mist.

How fog can look so menacing, I don't know. Makes me think of 'The Fog'.

Looks like a thunderstorm is brewing up there.

That looks like a Stephen King kind of fog. There's no telling what might be inside.

This fog almost looks like a waterfall of cloud! Great pic!

WOW, that fog looks really dense! We have fog here too, but I can't imagine it so heavy. Happy SWF.

A side of fog I don't often see - usually I'm inside, looking out.

That is beautiful! I love to see the rolling mist.

Gorgeous. I lived in the Sunset District of San Francisco for a few years, and it was always amazing to me to watch the fog creep up from the ocean and then eventually flow past our window.

Happy skywatching~

Sweet shot, Donald. Have fun at Point Reyes... it's renowned across the nation for its birdlife.

I can feel that and smell it too. It does look refreshing as the thermometer says 90 degrees right now.
Great capture.

I love the San Francisco fog!!! We're so lucky to have it!
Wish I could bottle it up and send a little to people who live in areas like Sacramento, where it gets really hot in the Summer. Great shot, great colors!

It's amazing to me that even just in the US there's so many different scenic images. You wouldn't see a sight like this on the east coast. Great capture. Love your header. The water looks almost milky.

Wow - it looks like fairy floss (candy cotton). I lived in the mountains for many years in Australia and we would often wake up to this. The mould loved it!!!

Like your sense of humour and photos!!!

Fog & mist is so atmospheric when it clothes the mountains & hills I think, & I love it when you start to see the sun begin to shine through.

Really impressive! It must be so dramatic to watch the fog rolling over like that!
