McClure's Beach, Pt. Reyes

In my opinion, McClure's Beach at Point Reyes is probably the most remote place in all of Marin County...   At the south end of the beach is a narrow passageway that takes the visitor around the corner to another beach -- rocky, full of intertidal wildlife, and accessable only at low tide...

Really nice Don. I loved it enlarged yesterday. You captured the splash so perfectly.
Those are quite amazing rocks.

Hi Photowannabe Sue,

Well, I have to credit my finding that hidden beach to Marty Knapp, a Point Reyes Station photographer who has been shooting at Point Reyes for the past 20 years... He has a fabulous and beautifully printed "coffee-table" book out now, and is getting a lot of national recognition...
I still haven't met him, but I did spot he and his wife (I got a great candid shot of him with his 4x5 view camera) out near the old McClure's Dairy the day I got these shots... In my opinion, Marty Knapp's work is on the level of an Ansel Adams... He still works with film... He must have more patience than me...
