water patterns

By it's very nature, photography is at it's best when the subject matter is somewhat recognizable, which is probably the failing of this image. I'm guessing that many viewers wouldn't even have a clue that these colorful lines are actually water ripples.

But continuing with the idea that this is an unrecognizable abstract, I think by cropping I have, at least, made it a stronger image.
