mailboxes at Galilee Harbor

Now, it might just be a bit unusual for boats to have actual mailboxes, but these are houseboats and most of them don't look like they are setting sail any time soon.

These are the mailboxes for the houseboats at Galilee Harbor in Sausalito. And there are other houseboat communities in the area -- each one seems to have a certain level of it's own funkiness. Galilee Harbor isn't the funkiest, but I'm going to guess it is probably one of the more artistic.

Oh, those brave sea mariners -- and their romance with the sea. Someone should write a poem...

Actually, next time you are on Jeopardy and Alex gives you an answer of "Redlegs", the question that should come to mind is; "What was the name of the popular band of the Gate Five houseboat community during the evictions for illegal "anchoring out" in the late '60's"?

Whoo Hooo a jaunt back in time. Hard to believe that was in the late 60's.
Love the artsy mailboxes. they look like they were all done by the same artist.
