morality training aid

I love the repeated patterns here -- and it seems to be telling a war story, of which I'm sure includes some sort of a moral lesson to be learned.   Which was probably never learned, again and again...

If I had been a better reporter I would have gotten all the specifics on the piece, but at the time I was more into soaking up the beauty of San Francisco's Asian Art Museum instead of trying to make my visit into some sort of academic project.   The dog ate my homework...

Of course this isn't a new shot -- my camera is still in the shop for a few more days -- but this and the next two are in the Atmospherics set of my "big" site.

I used Photoshop's "Smart Blur" filter to this shot as an experiment.   The "Smart Blur" filter blurs the interior of objects while leaving a sharp edge.   I don't normally use Photoshop filters very often, but they are sometimes fun to play with.

That's a bit of the Pacific Ocean in the lower right.   This is the Rodeo Beach area of Point Bonita, not far from the Golden Gate Bridge.

A friend told me that he didn't like this shot because of all the weedy stuff in the foreground.   I told him we could no longer be friends.   JK

I love the "weedy" shot. In fact, I think the weeds make it better. I like the "atmospherics," too. I'm a bad reporter when I go places, too. I sometimes have to remember to take pictures. I like to absorb, not report.
