Luckily, the heavily inhabited cities of Marin County are to the east, strung-out along dreadful "Highway One-oh-One" on the other side of these hills.

And if a photographer arrives early, the work-bound drivers who use these narrow roads as a racetrack and freeway detour can be avoided.
