Occasional Creek, revisited

A few days ago we had some more heavy rains -- and even some snow at the higher elevations -- so I thought I should get back up to Occasional Creek on the northern flank of my beloved Mount Tamalpais.

And yes, Occasional Creek was chugging along at a delightful pace.

Even the ferns were digging it...

Occasional Creek (it doesn't seem to have a real name) feeds into Lilly Lake (this may not be a real name either) and then Lilly Lake drains down into nearby Alpine Lake (yes, that is it's real name), eventually making it's way over the dam's spillway and to the beginning of the mighty (beautiful) Lagunitas Creek.   Two miles downstream the Lagunitas Creek flows into Kent Lake (another dammed reservoir), and then once again it becomes the Lagunitas Creek on it's way to Tomales Bay and out to the Pacific Ocean.

Amen.

And then it evaporates up into the skies and turns into snow/rain and comes down on the mountains and hills . . . .

Looks like a pretty place to visit and take pictures - occasionally.

Love the composition of the image with ferns. What a beautiful place!

Thanks SCOTT -- yeah, I hadn't thought of that recently -- how the water makes a full cycle. And more fresh water from the clouds is on the way -- with more snow tonight predicted -- what fun -- what a curiosity.

And thanks also MizMAGEE -- Yep it definitely is a beautiful place, and very few people ever visit. Well most of the time Occasional Creek is nothing more than a trickle, so why would they... Perhaps for he mossy trees and rocks -- would probably bore the hell out of most people.

Just a comment about the banner. Whoever voted "boring" has zero imagination and needs to get their eyesight checked. .02

I agree with Tomate Farcie 100%.
Great shots of your beloved Creek. We may even get snow at our place tomorrow. It started raining at 4 this afternoon and hasn't stopped since. Get the Ark ready!
