Oh, I am a very lucky guy... Let me get out my compass...
To the south of me is San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, to the west of me is our beloved Mount Tamalpais and the Pacific Ocean with a coastline that knocks my socks off, and to the north is a lush and verdant expanse of unspoiled rolling hills that we call West Marin.
But to the east is an unobstructed view across San Pablo Bay (((the northern thumb of San Francisco Bay))). It's the perfect vantage point for enjoying colorful sunrises reflecting off the water.

But to catch a sunrise a guy needs to get up extra early. After all, first, there is a blog to be written (((and don't forget the DailyDuo))), and a cat that needs food and a whole lot of morning love -- all of this before I can go searching for the perfect sunrise. This one is rather pretty, isn't it?

Very nice! You are lucky. I saw scenes of San Fran last night on the Amazing Race, and said to my wife "What a wonderful place to visit with a camera" or even without! :)
I'm going to have to make sure I see a California sunrise at least once in my lifetime! These pictures have inspired me to do so!
oh wow! this is really beautiful! I wish i was there!
THANKS CHRIS, EMMY, AND MULLEH -- Yeah, hurry, but San Francisco and the surrounding area will still be here when you get here... Wish I could do some traveling, but I'm way too broke and Kitty would probably never forgive me if I went off and left her...
The photo at the top with single twig of oats in the middle and golden background glow is stunning, Don!
OH HEY, THANKS BRAD -- Coming from you that's quite a compliment! I'm trying to round up six prints for the Marin County Fair this year and I might consider that shot as one of the six.
And hey everybody -- you should check out "Brad Evans' CitySnaps" excellent photo blog -- click on the link in my sidebar. Some of the finest street photography you'll ever find...
