food in San Francisco's Chinatown

Refrigeration isn't always available in some apartments, so shopping in Chinatown is often done every day, and very little goes to waste.

A high level of competition keeps prices down, quality up, and stores like Safeway out.

The activity at a Chinatown market rarely slows down.   And better watch out -- (Don) -- some of these guys have knives...

Well, I don't have to tell you how much I love Chinatown. I'm with you. I think the markets are fascinating and great places to take photos. Those big-eyed fish (snapper?) are always so otherworldly looking.
