just plain "o"ld -- it's ABC Wednesday !

"o" is for "o"ld --it's good old ABC Wednesday again !
This funky old building is in the teeny-tiny coastal town of San Gregorio, a few miles south of Half Moon Bay and in from the coast about a mile. "Greater" San Gregorio extends to the ranches and farms in the area, but there really isn't much left downtown anymore. There is a post-office sharing the building with a gift shop, but that's about it. It is possible to count the number of residences downtown on one hand and still have a couple fingers left over.
This funky old structure appears to have served as a store and gas station, but even as old as I am, that was before my time.

Another One of those buildings preserved specially for photographers.
Hmm!!
Here in Canada we have Crown Royal whiskey.
I doubt that is what was being advertized on the Royal Crown sign in your photo.
Thanks for your kind words in your comment on my blog.
I do appreciate them very much.
Bear((( )))
Such history in old buildings! Thanks for sharing!
That should leave about three residents - a real small-town life!
Extremely well illustrated.
I love those old seaside wooden buildings.
Fantastic spray shot in your header too.
I love old buildings. I always wonder about their history and about the people who occupied them.

Hi Donald,
Beautiful photograph of this Old building. I love all your Northern/Central California photos!
Great "O" post!
I love funky old buildings:)
Wow! That establishment do looks pretty old! Does anyone still use that building?
Neat building.I wonder what's inside?
I see chairs on the porch - surely the building isn't still inhabited. Or is it? Wonderful shot.
Thanks for visiting, and leaving such an informative comment.
THANKS EVERYONE for your comments...
And to answer "Earthlingorgeous" and Chrisc and Jonj";
Yes, someone does live there -- I fully expected someone to come out and ask me why I was taking pictures.
But I can only guess what it looks like inside -- I'm guessing it's cluttered and messy, just like where I live...
And to answer someone else's question about the Royal Crown sign -- that's for soda -- a brand I remember before Coke and Pepsi became so big.
We have some town like that around here the one that comes to my mind is Springdale Washington and quite a few of the window is board it up and it seems that they didn't want to diverse their economy.
Thanks for stopping in and the coffee is always on.
This old building reminds of me a story of"the twillight Zone", when a character travels through the past...

COOL! Awesome as always, Donald! (Wait--I'm using the wrong letter for ABC Wednesday...So: Outrageously Outstanding, Donald!) I've been a bit of a cyber-hermit lately. Look forward to catching up on alllllll of your recent posts, and thanks for visiting me! (Lily says hi to Kitty, and she says it's time for you to give Kitty some corn...)
Great shot - an ideal motive for camera biased people! ;)
Cheers, Klaus
It's a really great picture, I love the feel of it.

I love this picture! This old building is beautiful! As are so many of your posts! God bless you this week!
Lovely structure dear Donald! I also adored your wave photos! Takr care! :-)
Terrific texture and weathered wood.
I think you are right that the inside probably looks as used as the outside.
Perfect 'old' storefront. I enlarged and was able to take a peek inside. Its a beauty.
Thank for sharing!
It might be old - but with the blanket on the chair - it looks like someone stills enjoys it!
