Whoopie ! It's Tuesday -- welcome to Show Your World !
This is a beach with the delightful name of Bean Hollow, on the San Mateo coastline, about half-way between San Francisco and Santa Cruz. After an early start, this is where I ended up on Saturday morning. The surf was heavy, and the foamy waves were swooping way up and over the beach. The weather was pleasant -- I had a great time...
I call this "my world" because I have travelled up and down Highway 1 about a billion times over the past 61 years. My family lived in Pacific Grove (near Monterey), and when I was a kid we frequently travelled up Highway 1 to see Grandma in Marin County, near where I live these days.
Personally, I think the San Mateo coastline is even prettier than Big Sur (to the south of Monterey). There is more access to beaches, and the scenery is absolutely spectacular. There are tiny roads to explore the various redwood studded canyons, with creeks that gush in winter. Yes folks, it's my world and I don't think I would exchange it for any place else.

I would so love to be there to explore all the nooks and crannies. It is so beautiful. That beach looks like heaven. What a bummer my ticker does not tolerate air travel, I'd be there like a shot.
I love the beach. Thanks for sharing yours with us.
Wow I love the beach shot. Also your header pic is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!

Bean Hollow Beach looks wonderful!
Great shot.
I really love your header photo.
The Royal Crown sign needs a moon pie sign to go with it.lol..
Or--Is that just a Southern thing?
Have a great day.

Don: Wonderful beach you have shown, I look forward to seeing so much more of your world.
Perfect timing on capturing the crashing waves. All-around great photo as usual.
We also like those little side roads up and down the coast.
Thanks for the visit,
Troy
Hubs and I drive up and down Hwy 1 just to while the time away and we never really stop [unless there's coffee being served], but I think I would urged him to stop sometime and see this beach through my own eyes. That's why I love coming here, I get to learn more and more.
BTW, you're right the ggb is shrouded in fog today. Rain over the weekend? I can't wait.
this is amazing don. i love your beach/water shots.
This is a great perspective. I love the foam from the waves. Love the Pacific!
This almost looks like an aerial shot until you look close. Love the angle and the subject
Great shot, I always love the coast, those waves rolling in.
Your world always fascinates me, and this is no exception. I love the ocean, and I especially love it when the waves break a little on the wild side. This and the preceding wave photos are wonderful.
I've been on Highway 1 once. I remember very little because I was carsick the whole time! I was 16. Maybe the front seat privileges of being an adult would make it better now!
I agree, your area is wonderful. I love the photo of the surf.
I can believe, that you could change the place, but could you believe, that I feel in same way even my winter is so dark, cold and long, but
my home is my home as yours is yours :)
And that`s the way, how it should be.
All the best to you!
Looks like a lovely beach! I'm looking forward to se more:)
What a beautiful beach. I like the way you shot is a great deal.
That is one incredible surf!
Very beautiful beach! Thanks for sharing your world!

Well composed. I love your waves :-)

love those waves, thanks for sharing
Yes the San Mateo coastline is prettier than further South. I do miss the seascapes at times. Thank heavens I'm only 2 hours from it when I feel I need a fix.
Donald,
This picture is absolute magic.
Really nice perspective and lighting. I love this time of year as the sun gets lower on the horizon the light has that ethereal quality most of the day.
I can understand why you wouldn't want to change your world, t looks perfect. I love the beach and watching the waves. Thanks for sharing.
