Oh, I was quite a black-and-white photographer back when I was a teenager... And, I was taking vertical shots -- something I very rarely do these days for some reason... The fern was at Big Sur, and the lower shot is at Cannery Row in Monterey, my old hometown...

Well, I didn't take many photos since then and now, but I never stopped looking and trying to frame things up... I guess I was just waiting for digital to come along...
