my Northbeach, oh so early in the morning

Despite the mega-malls and shopping centers of the suburbs, I prefer to do my shopping with the local independents. Unfortunately, this Northbeach music and curio store always seems to be closed when I pass by, oh so early in the morning.

Candles at the Italian restaurant are out, and if I were to knock on the door of these curvy apartments someone would probably say harsh words.

Some residents are grumpy, apparently, about parking. Others dream about the tropics.

Can't decide on which flavor of ginsicle? Just spin the wheel.
Got a hankering for a late-nite burrito? Hey, what have YOU been smokin'?

And I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that there is quite a saga behind this little sports-car. And again, if I were to knock on a door to check on the story, I'm pretty sure I would hear harsh words.

Would love to have that poster in the window.

Hi SINBAD'S DAD (JOHN) -- Let you in on a little secret here... I Photoshopped that poster in because of a big blotch of nothingness, except for more of the glass-etch scrawl. But there is not only this poster, but eight or ten others (((they are reproductions and are probably available for sale))) are on display in the window of Music101 on Grant, just around the corner. I believe the two stores are owned by the same person because they both sport the same musical score decoration.
I always feel badly when I get this crass with my Photoshop bag of tricks. A couple things give it away as a paste-in job, however -- 1) the glass in front of the poster has that criss-cross wire embedded in it, and 2) I neglected to soften the edges of the poster just a bit so it would look more natural. Anyway, honesty is the best policy.
When I was a kid I pasted in some birds into a "splash" shot that I entered in the Monterey County Fair and the photo got exhibited. Those were the days when we had to physically "paste" objects and then reshoot the combo. So much easier these days with modern technology.

Love your creativity Don.
I am really taken with the "smokin" car.
I need to look for things like that too.
Have a great weekend.

I certainly like the colors in the photos today. I have noticed that afghans and such seem to always draw my attention when anchored by the pinks, and I believe that is what draws me to this series.

Thanks HOOLY -- I hadn't even noticed all the pinks until you mentioned it.
