San Francisco's Northbeach area was "ground zero" for the free-thinking Beat Generation of the 1950's.
And City Lights Books, founded in 1953 by poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, is STILL headquarters for intellectual enlightenment out here on the "left coast".
The yellow building is Vesuvio, a bar where you can have a smoke outside, think lustful thoughts inside, then toss back a beer at 6AM and not feel guilty about any of it. Bottoms up.

Eventually they'll get around to replacing everything that is old and funky with something that is new and modern, but I like the well-worn feeling still exuding from Little City Market.

I "stitched" two images together for this panorama of a sheet-metal shop.
Even though it takes two shots to get it all in, the no-parking signs keep the view clear of cars.
