Montezuma Hills, a favorite place

This bold sign has been successfully warning me not to do any exploring down that road for the past 40 years.
As I mentioned yesterday, this is one of my favorite places -- it's a sheep grazing and wheat growing area, (((duck hunting available to all bloody bastards))), on the west side of Highway12, between Fairfield and Rio Vista, known as Montezuma Hills.

The main artery of electricity serving the Bay Area runs across these fields and low hills, and in the past forty years a great number of wind-mills have sprouted up in every conceivable spot. The timid sheep don't seem to mind. The farmers, on who's land many wind-mills are located, are receiving fat monthly checks.

I thought it would be more convenient if I just unrolled my window, pointed the camera, and clicked. Not much need to worry about blocking traffic by stopping in the middle of the street. Only one other (((operational))) vehicle in town, and he was inside the bar.
There's a pretty disgusting duck hunting lodge up the road, a few houses, and that's about it for the tiny little town officially known as Bird's Landing.

I thought I should stop and snap a photo of this -- you never know when they'll come along and remove bits and pieces of our historic past. I am 102 years old now, believe it or not...

After I took this photo I thought about going over and having a brief conversation with these beefers about their destiny inside a combo-basket down at Carl's Junior, but I really didn't want to spoil their pleasant day. --Not my job anyway...

I love wind turbines. Cool picture. The cow one is nice, too. I'm glad you didn't ruin their day!
