When you enter the Ferry Building you can walk around looking at the interesting ceiling...

...but a better idea is to stop by one of the many the cheese shops and start tasting like a starved gormet...   With a bit of practice you can master a technique where they keep feeding you samples if you give them the impression that you just can't make up your mind which cheese you prefer, but don't really intend to buy...

Do you like olives?   Sourdough?   How about a little Panchetta?   A bit of Provalone?   How about a splash of Cabernet?

Eating fruits and vegetables makes everything healthy -- so better pick up an armload...   Stuff those pockets with apples and oranges...   A couple raddishes for my ears...   Two carrots for my nose...

Cheese is my weakness. YUM! And your photos makes the fruits look just as appetizing... almost!

Love the Cowgirl Creamery! It's been too long since we last visited the Ferry Building market - must make an effort soon'ish, especially now that Blue Bottle Coffee is opening a permanent shop inside.

I am embarrassed to say I never mad it to the "new" Ferry Building complex. It is on my to do list next time we get down to The City. Love the fruits and veggies. I was wondering where the pix of you with the carrots and radishes were!!! I'm sure it would be my all time favorite.

Had the good fortune to spend three delightful Spring months teaching in Southern France. Went to the markets in Nice and Antibbes regularly. The food was delicious - can't get it here anywhere - and the people were friencly and fascinating. Your pictures bring back the images.

Hey great shots, especially the colorful fruits!!

Unfortunately, I've never met a piece of cheese I didn't like [well maybe except one or two very, very strong ones like certain French Roquefort] so I try to stay away from these cheese displays, although I do admire your technique ;)

PhotoWannabe: You're in for a treat! If you remember the Ferry Building the way it was before, you're going to be shocked in a good way. Lots of colorful stuff now! :)
