Oh lord, not another sunrise...

I've just started attending a night-class at Stanford and last evening I had the rather frightening duty of briefly explaining to 20 of my peers (plus 1 highly regarded instructor) what Donald Kinney is all about. Most were aghast to hear that I am so willing to get up so-ridiculously-early in order to catch the sunrise.

Glad you got to shock and awe them with your early hour routine. I admire that about you. By the way, I've been working with and using the histogram information you provided plus other sources for the past few weeks. I am now in the habit of always checking after I push the button and adjusting for it. Thanks for getting me on track. Have fun with your class. Share some stuff as you learn, will ya?

Hi JOHN (SINBAD'S DAD)
Fabulous that you are now a member of the Church of the Histogram. Checking the histogram right after exposure is definitely the way to go, although usually I get lazy and just bracket my shots widely and then look at the histograms later when I have the images open in Photoshop. Ten points and a gold star, John--it's my highest award!
