Well, I was probably wrong, but after I decided on this as yesterday's banner image, I began experimenting with a few ways to accentuate the drama.

Again, not that the image is hopeless to begin with, but when I do have a hopeless image my first trick is to "posterize" the image; limiting the number of colors from many to a few.
