over-saturation, and none at all

Thinking back, I suppose I did more than my share of toying with the color-controls on my parents Zenith TV. Walter Cronkhite looked really wild with a really red face. Scanning forward in time, I guess the color saturation and luminance controls in Photoshop was the next logical step.

Enjoyed that post. Both the over and the none. I really liked the texture picked up in that top one.
I used to be an assistant at a Photoshop course at San Francisco State taught by a cool young woman named Barbara Mehlman. When she got to the Filters menu, she would introduce them by saying, "Filters are like street drugs, powerful and crappy at the same time. Stay away from them because everyone's going to know how you got that effect."
Now, saturation is a whole other story, but it's a strong drug too.
Keep fiddling with the dials!
Good stuff.
Hi ALL -- Yep, I had a lot of fun with that -- wasn't intending to over-saturate it at first, but that's what happened somehow. A little of this sort of stuff seems to go a long way.
