Rodeo Beach, surfing and songs

I'm told that Rodeo Beach, a bit northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge, isn't any sort of world-class surfing spot, but I like it because I can get fairly close to the surfers with my lens that isn't terribly long.

Oh, surfers say their wet-suits keep them warm, but wet-suit or not, I know that ocean is way too cold for me.

This dude is about one-half of a second away from a big wipe-out.

Terrific action shots. I love the curl and crash of the waves.

If I knew how to surf, I think the wetsuit would keep me warm ENOUGH. When I used to have a lake at my disposal, we would go in March in wetsuits. It was COLD, but the air was not so bad. Then we'd go late in the fall in wetsuits again. The water was warmer then, but the air warmer. If one or the other is reasonably warm, you can manage in a wetsuit if you've got this insatiable need to be in the water!
