While standing around waiting for the shortest Blue Angels show in history (((the fog called the event))) I snapped this shot of the Golden Gate Bridge and old power lines in the foreground. Slightly curvy.

I was discussing this photo with Jan Bell the other day. (((I've previously claimed Jan as my "photographic mentor"))) Jan likes the tracks, but I don't think I have enough depth of field on the shot.
What I should do is go back with a tripod and try again... It's a really easy shot when no cars are blocking -- I just need to stop the lens all the way down, and that'll probably require a second or two of exposure... Don't want to use a high ISO. Hate lugging that tripod around and using it takes so much time. I should be more patient.

If you are asking; "what curves?", look closer and see the Art Deco shape of the sign. The last iteration of the sign seems to have been "Lite House, Lighting, Lamp Repairs", but I'm not exactly about the text of the original sign underneath.

Every time I see this graffiti (((on a bunker in Marin Headlands))) I think he's my spitting image. I have a curvy head just like that.

I disagree about the depth of field. In fact, the short depth of field gives the photos a sense of ... not movement but there's a feeling that there's a future, a past and a sliver of the present, which you've captured. I carry a light weight and inexpensive tripod in the trunk of my car but I rarely have the foresight or fortitude to take it out as often as I should.
ps: Do you live near Santa Venetia?

Oh cool -- I see what you're saying and it's probably the same thing Jan was thinking... I still would like to shoot it really sharp from front to back -- that's what Edward Weston or maybe his son Brett would have done...
God, I hate tripods, but can usually find something to brace the camera on -- sometimes the only thing is the ground...
I live in Fairfax, on the S.A. border, up off of Willow... I've lived in most Marin Cities but have been here the longest... I think you're in Kentfield, if I'm not mistaken -- my Grandmother used to live at 12 Terrace Avenue -- our family was always coming up to visit from our home in Pacific Grove...
I moved to this area in the late '60's... It's been just one distraction after another since I've arrived...
