Monkey see, monkey do...
Ever since I saw Plug1's backlit photo of the Transamerica Building I have been trying to catch it under the same atmospheric conditions.   Above are my feeble attempts, but Plug1's photo is a billion times better than what you see here.

Here's the URL of Plug1's great photo:

By the way, you can stay current with Plug1&2's super interesting blog at:

A well deserved plug (no pun intended initially) for the Plugs! ;)

I like the top one very, very much.

Come to think of it, I like the bottom one very much, as well. I photographed that building many times but never managed to see that in my lense! Great shots!

thanks, Don. coming from a master such as yourself -- that means alot.

i took our shot before DST around 6 at night. just got lucky i guess, with the fog rolling in beforehand.

The one you linked to is really something, but I think your photos are very impressive, too. I wonder if it looks that way in person, too, or does the camera add emphasis of its own?

HELLO EVERYBODY AND HELLO PLUG1:

Thanks for letting me know that was shot in late afternoon -- my shot, of course, was in the morning from the other side (near City Lights)...

I should check out the City late in the afternoon -- I doubt if I would have much trouble ordering up some fog...

Best regards, Don and Kitty

Awesome shots Don. Love the way the first one looks like a beacon.
Now I'm off to see the links. Thanks for giving them to us.
