I have a dear lady friend who has been heavily mixed up in the Da Free John movement for years. Every time he gets into trouble or his reputation is besmirched he changes his name--he's dead now, but his last name was Ada Da. Nothing other than mind-control. If you remember the post I did on Camels, that is where I got the shots--at his zoo up in Lake County near Middletown. I love my friend dearly, but she is totally detached with the reality of this world. Probably not a bad thing, now that I think of it. She never reads this blog so I am in no danger of offending her, and she already knows how I feel, anyway. The prayer is still with me, although I call myself a "recovering Catholic" now. :-) The guy who sold you your ordination certificate is not the first guy to invent his own religion and make a living from it.

Cheers! BTW, I'd love to meet you some day. Just curious. I admire your work and your blog is fun. Not "coming on" to you or anything. :-)
Zoomiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16474153316588551039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9868138.post-81242826065739903222014-01-21T07:51:40.517-08:002014-01-21T07:51:40.517-08:00Hi ZOOMIE -- you know, I actually grew up in a Pro...Hi ZOOMIE -- you know, I actually grew up in a Protestant home. My dad was really into his choir directing and my mother taught young children in Sunday School. Our church was "non-denominational" but was sort of a mixture of Baptist and Methodist philosophies. I currently belong to the Church of the Gooey-Death, but in my 20's I became an ordained "minister" in the Universal Life Church--all I had to do was send Kirby J. Hensley $5 and I received my certificate in the mail. They are STILL running this "scam"--the following is what Wikipedia has to say about it: The Universal Life Church (ULC) is a religious organization that offers anyone semi-immediate ordination as a ULC minister free of charge (Note: While ordination is free they do charge for ministry credentials). The organization states that anyone can become a minister without having to go through the pre-ordination process required by other religious faiths. The ULC has no traditional doctrine, believing as an organization merely in doing "that which is right." The Universal Life Church believes that it is every person’s responsibility to act holistically, to do nothing to impinge on the rights of others, and to uphold religious diversity and freedom. Additionally, everyone (men, women, and children from around the globe) must be able to practice their spiritual and religious beliefs without interference or threat from any government, religious, or societal force. The Church does not stand between the member and his or her belief system. AphotoAdayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08581940419934089601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9868138.post-60486848666746409782014-01-21T06:29:55.148-08:002014-01-21T06:29:55.148-08:00You remembered the prayer exactly, and it isn'...You remembered the prayer exactly, and it isn't a common one, either.
