Point Reyes, here and there

Tomorrow I'm going to show you part of the inside of the old RCA building at the end of this driveway.   I recently saw a TV commercial they had filmed in the tree tunnel -- I think it was for some medication to smooth out the highs-and-lows.

Well, I don't think they've rented any launches for a half-century or more, but this old building on stilts is one of those landmarks you can't miss on your way out to Point Reyes.   It's now a private residence.

This is the Dacha where the Lypinski family lives.   The detail on the structure is absolutely amazing.

Wikipedia says Dacha is a Russian word for seasonal or year-round second homes often located in the exurbs of Soviet and Russian cities. In some cases, they are occupied for part of the year by their owners and rented out to urban residents as summer retreats.

When I spotted this slightly rag-tag group of nature lovers I had to steal a snap -- only to be questioned by one person in the group as to my intentions.   I always hate that question.

And this is what the nature lovers were after -- a glimpse of seals hauled up on the beach.

Great photos - I've always wanted to pull off in Inverness to photograph the buildings along the bay there but haven't got to it yet. The dacha is particularly lovely.

The cypress tunnel is awesome.

Thanks for these. It has been way too long since my last visit to Pt. Reyes.

My father would actually ask frightened you men "what are your intentions with my daughter?" It was an act, but effective.
